WALPOLE — The Walpole Conservation Commission approved an invasive-species cleanup and continued six other pending projects to September. Conservation Agent Landis Hershey said the Board of Health voted unanimously July 28 against work in 100-foot wetland buffers but deferred to the commission's conditions. Commissioners voted 5-0 to approve cleanup conditions for William Doherty's Kendell Street property and voted 5-0 on each continuance, including a Route 1 fence-company building and a 15-home Pinnacle Point subdivision pending since 2021.
Engineer John Glassa, representing Avo Fence Co., faced pushback from Brookside Village Condominium board member Bob Atwood, who said "we're concerned about the proposal to have that access road at all." The commission also began planning a September 9 executive session on a possible land swap of conservation property on Coney Street for a future East Walpole fire station.
