Select Board · Meeting of October 6, 2026
Walpole's Select Board raised snowplow contractor rates and bumped the stadium event parking fee from $7 to $10 per space. All four members present voted 4-0 to approve the plow rates after a presenter said three contractors left in a year and a five-town survey found Walpole low on larger equipment. Director of Administrative Services Aoife Kelly said the fee, never raised before, covers seven commercial and 41 residential lots, and Foxborough recently moved to $10.
The board also released $5,303.04 in perpetual care funds for a Rural Cemetery fence, promoted Ian Tolland to lieutenant and Michelle O'Neil to sergeant, and approved moving Walpole Discount Beer & Wine to 1391 Main Street. Town Administrator Jim said the MWRA's sewer overflow plan would cost Walpole $18 million over 44 years.
