Senior Center Honors Top Visitors at Anniversary
Council on Aging · Meeting of January 30, 2026
Walpole's senior center marked its seventh anniversary with a concert and awards for its most frequent visitors. A Council on Aging staff member reported 60,032 visits for the year, the highest on record, and credited 201 volunteers with 27,572 hours of service. Program Coordinator Mimi Connell handed out prizes to top "super users," topped by John Baker, who attended on 244 of 245 possible days, missing only one.
Other honorees included Ray Harris, Maureen Murphy, Bill Kennedy, Bill Lawson, Tim Delaney, Ed Norton and Mary Jones, recognized in ascending order of visits. The Retro-Politan duo performed oldies including "Downtown" and "Blueberry Hill" while attendees sang along. No board business or votes occurred; the session was a celebration, not a regular meeting.
