Planning Board Continues Union Street Project to Oct. 15
Planning Board · Meeting of September 17, 2026
Walpole Planning Board continues a six-home Union Street hearing to Oct. 15 over incomplete plans. Engineer Rob Truax of Truax Engineering Group presented the 112 Union Street condominium project, but members said it still lacked police and Conservation Commission sign-off; the board extended the decision deadline through October 31. Building Commissioner Jim Crowley told the board that "over-notifying people does not cause a problem," resolving a dispute over mailed abutter notices under state law.
The project's developer, identified as Walsh, initially dodged a question on withdrawing a competing 40B permit before saying, "Yes, I intend to pull the 40B." Separately, the board unanimously released a bond for Kilronan Way, Emerald Way and Ross Common and rounded a reduced bond figure to $150,000, based on a Strongpoint engineering estimate of $149,474.30.
