Other Committee · Meeting of October 13, 2026

Walpole's Permanent Building Committee approved a $136,455.38 change order on its school construction project, shifting the substantial completion date from August 22 to September 11. The change order, covering previously tracked cost items, dropped the project's contingency balance to $528,000, with as much as $180,000 to $184,000 in additional exposure still projected, according to figures presented at the meeting. Members also voted 5-1 to spend $20,170.08 on a crane lift to reinstall a "W" letter on the field house sign on Veterans Day, with member Jeff dissenting.

Separately, the committee approved a $458,625.62 vendor invoice payment to general contractor Agostini, now "99 percent complete" with its contract. The committee is still negotiating seven disputed cost claims with Agostini, targeting a $35,000 settlement against the contractor's $47,000 counteroffer, and scheduled its next meeting for November 17.
