Walpole panel OKs $627,000 for school project

Other Committee · Meeting of February 10, 2026

Walpole's Permanent Building Committee approved $626,992.23 in vendor invoices and a $15,329.95 change order for the high school's phase-three gym and music-wing build-out, while tabling a vote on a disputed athletic banner plan. The panel reported general contractor Agostini is 84.7 percent complete on its contract, with substantial completion targeted for June 15. Committee member Jeff objected that the banner topic had been discussed while he and the superintendent were absent, calling it "not a PBC matter." Committee member Bridget detailed a plan to hang new 6-by-6 banners for all 27 varsity sports, with a touch-screen kiosk outside the gym to display full championship rosters instead of reinstalling old, fire-code-noncompliant banners.

The committee also noted a roughly $15,000 savings already realized on a paving change order.
