Walpole Water Board Reorganizes After Clash
Other Committee · Meeting of March 23, 2026
Walpole Sewer and Water Commission reorganizes its leadership after months of open conflict. Commissioners voted 3-2 to reorganize, then elected Commissioner Pradeep Mishra chairman 3-1-1 over Commissioner William Abbott, and made Commissioner Patrick Fasano clerk, 5-0. The board also split 4-1 and 3-2 on two MWRA-related Town Meeting articles, including a $1.1 million inflow-and-infiltration borrowing measure that Commissioner Bill Hamilton called unfair to ratepayers, saying "I'm not going to put any more fees on people's water and sewer bill." A motion to send a letter opposing the Darwin Lane 40B project was tabled.
The panel twice failed to approve its own March 9 minutes. Two citizen petitions, one to eliminate the commission outright, went to the Select Board the next night.
